A postwar photograph of Pierre Agerin Lavergne of Church Point, LA. Records indicate that he may have served in four Louisiana units: Miles' Legion Infantry, 15th Battalion Sharpshooters, 2nd Regiment Cavalry, and 2nd Regiment Reserve Corps. In 1938, when he was in his late 90s, he received the following invitation to attend the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. He was too ill to attend and died that August.
