BG Paul Octave Hebert, first in his class at West Point in 1840, pre-war governor of Louisiana, colonel of the 1st Louisiana Heavy Artillery, and commander of various posts and departments in the Trans-Mississippi Theatre of Operations. He was first cousin of BG Louis Hebert, also of Iberville Parish, LA.
