This 1866 map reflects the boundaries of the Louisiana parishes during the War Between the States. There were no changes in the boundaries of Louisiana's parishes between 1852 and 1868. In 1868, Iberia Parish was carved out of St. Martin and St. Mary; in 1870, Cameron from Calcasieu and Vermilion; in 1886, Acadia from St. Landry; in 1910, Evangeline from St. Landry; in 1912, Allen, Beauregard, and Jefferson Davis from Calcasieu, completing the present-day parishes of South Louisiana.
